1.3.4.7.5. Internet Explorer 4.0 for H/PC 2000

The Internet Explorer version 4.0 for the Handheld PC 2000 is related to the Internet Explorer 4.0 for the desktop PC. It supports HTML 4.0, DHTML (IE4 DOM), MSXML and has an embedded VRML viewer. The HTTP 1.1 (methods: http, https) and the FTP (method: file) protocols are supported. This browser does not support Vbscript, instead JScript (superset of ECMA-262) is supported. Active X controls can be downloaded. Web page designers can use cascading style sheets for determining the presentation of the web page, also additional fonts can be downloaded. The following file formats are supported: GIF, JPEG, BMP, XBM, HTML, TXT, GIF89a (animated GIF) and many others. The Internet Explorer 4.0 for H/PC 2000 can be detected by web servers with the following user agent string:

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows 95)

To be able to view the HTML source in the Internet Explorer 4.0 for H/PC 2000, the page must be saved first and then loaded into any other file viewer.

For user authentication, Basic and NTLM can be used and data can be encrypted with SSL2 and SSL3.
